Part 1:  Fill in the blanks with a coordinating conjunction.

1. My grammar lecturer likes milkshake.  She also likes cappuccino.

 

2. Andrea likes Indian food.  Her friend Anthony likes Italian food.

 

3. She wants to work as a reporter in future.  She is studying academic writing at university.

 

4. The actor is warm-hearted and generous.  She does a lot of charity work.

 

5. The guests drink beer and whisky.  They also drink wine and rum.

 

6. The kimchi stew is hot.  It is spicy.  It is also delicious.

 

7. The chicken stew is so thick that you can eat it with a fork. You can also use a spoon.

 

8. Lucky, my brown puppy, loves having its neck scratched. It dislikes getting its body wet.

 

9. My dog intimidates the Persian cat downstairs. It is afraid of the Siamese cat upstairs.

 

10. The little boy refuses to eat the shrimp noodles. He will not touch the chicken rice either.  

 

11. I do not waste a single grain of rice. It is a rich source of carbohydrates and

     is time-consuming to cultivate.

 

12. Even though the chicken nuggets were delicious, his wife ignored her

      serving. He grabbed a pair of chopsticks and ate it himself.

 

13. Her dog likes to sleep on the sofa. Her cat likes to nap in the bathtub.

 

14. The stray dog is skinny.  It is infested with fleas.

 

15. She has a beautiful face.  She is proud and unfriendly.
